Time to END Corona restrictions

The CDC reported a few months ago that the mortality rate for corona virus is .26%.  We know it's lower than that due to the fact that there have been a significant number of false positives / errors / horse play in the numbers of cases reported.  It is also lower due to the fact that not everyone whose had it knew they had it (non-symptomatic), nor did everyone who's had it report it!  Noone knows for sure.  I say it's .13% (half of .26% -- I've seen lower guesses), but for math's simplicity, I'm going to round to .1%, which equates to 1 in 1000.  The average age of a corona death is 80 years old.

A more recent CDC report states that of those who have contracted and died from covid (and on average are EIGHTY years old), only 6% (of those 1 in 1000 and are eighty years old and can social distance and wear masks) had no underlying conditions.  Folks, that's 1 in 16,667, and that's not taking into account the fact that not everyone will contract it!

Let's take a look at the odds of some other "ways to die":

Heart Disease and Cancer: 1 in 7
Chronic Lower Respiratory Disease: 1 in 28
Intentional Self-harm: 1 in 95
Unintentional Poisoning: 1 in 96
Motor Vehicle Crash: 1 in 114
Fall: 1 in 127
Assault by Firearm: 1 in 370
Car Occupant: 1 in 645
Pedestrian Incident: 1 in 647
Motorcycle Rider Incident: 1 in 985
Unintentional Drowning: 1 in 1,188
Exposure to Fire, Flames or Smoke: 1 in 1,498
Choking from Ingestion of Food: 1 in 3,461
Pedacyclist Incident: 1 in 4,486
Firearms Discharge: 1 in 6,905
Air and Space Transport Incidents: 1 in 9,821
Electric Current & Radiation: 1 in 15,212
Exposure to Excessive Natural Heat: 1 in 16,584
Contact with Sharp Objects: 1 in 38,174

I say we call a halt to EVERYTHING WE'RE DOING in our lives and dedicate ourselves to removing EVERY SHARP OBJECT ON THE PLANET!

Back on point though, we should definitely protect our great-grandparents. They are protected via social distancing and mask wearing, and those that wish to should continue to use those same measures. But  how will their lives change in any way if the rest of the world's people return to living their lives normally?

We should definitely NOT be stealing away the lives of our youth in order to bolster by some unknown amount, probably small, the effective aforementioned protective measures already in place! Everyone else going back to full life doesn't take social distancing and masks away from the vulnerable!

Moreover, for my part, if I were that age, I would not want that. I would want my grandchildren to live their lives to the fullest, as I hope I will have at that point, and social distancing and mask wearing precludes that. And it's not just the life they don't get to live. There are MANY other consequences associated with the measures society has had foisted upon it. Depression, abuse, unemployment, loss of hope, just to name a few.

In summary, the vulnerable among us are being protected, and should continue to be. Those that have virtually NO RISK of dying from covid, and those who wish to live their lives to the fullest knowing that the risk of dying should they contract it is very small, should be allowed to return to life as normal.

Billions of years of life have been lost already.

trump accusations

Looking at the huffpost (unbiased) article:
1) What a laugh. Bannon, Flynn, Sessions, Mnuchin, et al have some small, remote, insignificant thing that someone with a microscope interprets as racist so somehow now Trump is racist. Not that he was trying to pick the most qualified. Ridiculous.
2) "Trump denied responsibility for the racist incidents that followed his election"
So Trump is responsible for the crazies? That preposterous. A Hillary supporter shot Steve Scalise. She should be put in jail. That might be the most ridiculous of them all.
3) "He launched a travel ban targeting Muslims"
As far as I can tell, Muslim is a religion, and not a race. And if it's a Muslim ban, why aren't the most Muslim populated countries included in the ban? Pakistan? Philippines? Turkey? India? The countries are those that provide no reliable means of vetting whether or not people have ties to terrorism.
4) "He attacked Muslim Gold Star parents"
Again, not sure how Muslim == race, but all he said was is was weird that she stood on stage while he did all the talking. Are people beyond questioning if they're somehow a part of what you designate an aggrieved class? Isn't it more racist to assume so? Can't Muslim parents defend themselves? Or since they're Muslim they're somehow incapable of defending themselves. To believe that is racist.
5) So, here'a judge, Curiel, that in his spare time, for free, advocates for illegal aliens, who belongs to "La Raza Lawyers", and you think it's wrong to question if such an individual -- who I believe has every right in the world to do as he pleases -- can be impartial towards Trump? It's not his race but his advocacy that causes the conflict of interest. Again, this idea that you can't question a minority is a faulty argument.
6) The Justice Department sued his company ― twice ― for not renting to black people
Puhhhlease. A. Trump doesn't make decisions like that. B. Nothing was proven. C. 2 occasions. Do you have any idea how many renters Trump has? Man, what a stretch.
7) He said, she said. Let's hear from the other side:
https://www.youtube.com/wat...
https://www.youtube.com/wat..., Trump turns his Mar-a-Lago resort into a private club open to Jews, African-Americans and all races, breaking with many other local elite clubs in Palm Beach, Florida,
- Trump would not want join a Palm Beach, Florida, club because it does not allow black or Jewish members.
Did you know Bill and Hillary belonged to a white's only golf club in Arkansas? We've all grown over the years in our behavior and statements regarding race. I'm sure Trump is no exception. The fact of the matter is that Republicans are less racist than progressives. We want to IGNORE COMPLETELY the pigmentation levels in someone's skin, and judge each individual, as Dr. King prayed for, by the content of their character. Progressives believe minorities need to be protected, helped. That's the real racism that holds them back.
8) He refused to condemn the white supremacists who advocated for him
Please. Do you know that Trump denounced Duke in the year 2000? In a “Today Show” interview, Trump called David Duke a “bigot, a racist, a problem” and separately sent a statement to the New York Times, saying the Reform Party’s inclusion of Duke makes it a party he does not want to join. He has continued unequivocally denounced Duke.
9) He questioned whether President Obama was born in the United States
How the hell is that racist?
10) He treats racial groups as monoliths
Aren't taco bowls from Mexico? Good grief. People can take offense at ANYTHING ANYONE SAYS. As far as I understand, offense is only taken. I can choose not to take it in any situation you can describe. Bunch of touchy pansies.
11) He trashed Native Americans, too
SHUT DOWN THE PRESSES! Trump said they didn't look like Indians. I rescind my entire position. OMG(oodness)!
12) He encouraged the mob anger that resulted in the wrongful imprisonment of the Central Park Five
Mob anger? Mob anger caused the conviction? What? Trump threw them in prison? Trump advocated for law and order. He loved his city, and didn't want women raped in Central Park. Is Trump perfect? No. Is anyone? As far as I know, there's only ever been One of those!  Do some research.  They were guilty as hell.
13) He condoned the beating of a Black Lives Matter protester
It says that Trump said: "Maybe [the protester] should have been roughed up,” he mused. “It was absolutely disgusting what he was doing.” Does it say "that black dude should have been roughed up? Just because the guy was black it's not ok to disagree with his behavior? Trump's a fighter. That's a good thing. It's racist to say he's racist for that.
14) He called supporters who beat up a homeless Latino man “passionate”
Yeah, maybe he should have said something different immediately.. no one's perfect. Here's how he followed it up though: BOSTON — Donald Trump on Friday denounced a violent attack against a homeless Hispanic man in Boston whose attacker told police he was inspired, in part, by Trump's rhetoric that people in the country illegally should be deported. It was a change in tone for the Republican presidential candidate, who's known for his incendiary remarks.
"Boston incident is terrible. We need energy and passion, but we must treat each other with respect," Trump tweeted after coming under criticism for failing to condemn the attack more strongly. "I would never condone violence."
15) He stereotyped Jews and shared an anti-Semitic image created by white supremacists
Now Trump hates Jews. Wow. His daughter and son-in-law are Jewish.  Not sure how to respond to such a stupid statement.
16) He treats African-American supporters as tokens to dispel the idea he is racist
A stretch, by any stretch.

Trump said that w/o a border, anyone can get in, including rapists and murderers.  I assume Mexico has rapists and murderers. Without a border, we can't hope to control who comes in.  Without a border, we don't have a country.

Hallelujah! America has had a stay of execution...

Trump won!  Wow.  You've never seen a bigger sigh of relief than that which was displayed on my face on the night of November 8th.  I walked into the office the next morning playing, and dancing to (in very fine fashion I might add), Redbone's "Come and get your love", from the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack (video forthcoming).  The executioner's ax was raised above America's neck, but Trump, with the help of The Almighty, ripped it out of his hands.

The sad part, however, is that it is only a stay of execution.  We benefited from a perfect storm of conditions that got President Trump elected.  In summary:

  • Mr. Trump's identification, coalescence, and mobilization of the forgotten, laid-off factory workers
  • Bernie Sanders division of the Democratic party
  • Wikileaks' revelations
  • Comey's last minute review to Congress
  • Hillary's awful character!
  • The Media (in their decidedly finite wisdom), trying so hard to convince Republicans that Hillary had already won so they could just stay home instead convinced Democrats of the same -- and they did

Trump can win a second term.  He's a stud.  Love him, but after the Trumpster, I don't see Conservatives winning again as things currently stand.

Not all is lost however.  We can permanently take America back if we examine what the Democrat's base is made of and work to dismantle it.

Have you ever asked yourself how one of the most radical, anti-American ideologues to ever grace the shores of our beautiful country, let alone occupy the White House (yes, Barry Soetoro, er, Barack Obama), was elected to lead our wonderful country?

Well, guess what? The answer is: he bought it!

Notice I didn't say "bought and paid for it"! That's because, ladies and gentlemen, WE THE PEOPLE are the ones that paid for it.

Today we have 110 million people on the rolls of welfare, and 45 million on food stamps with expenditures on "entitlements" (I call them unentitlements) in excess of 1.10 TRILLION dollars annually.

Now, if only 20 percent of them vote - and you know it's higher than that (especially for President), that's 36 million bought and paid for democrat voters (whose money bought them again?). 25% = 45 million. Considering we had roughly 125 million voters turn out, that makes a pretty uneven playing field, wouldn't you say?

So right now you're probably thinking to yourself something along the lines of: "Well, what of it? Every American should have a vote. That's the American way after all."

That's what I used to think too. Then something I heard from a caller to Rush Limbaugh's program caught my ear. He reminded us that our Founding Fathers fought England largely due to the fact that they suffered under "taxation without representation", but that unentitlement recipients have "representation without taxation". That got me thinking, and I came to understand it's even worse: we pay them to tell us who should run the country.

Maybe you're not sold yet. Well, if you'll hang in there just a minute more, I'll try to explain a bit further...

Let's say just for argument sake that that snake, Mr. Romney, had won the 2012 election. He had a bunch of different planks in his platform: reducing the size of government, reducing taxes, repeal of Obamacare, etc, etc. Those that voted for him would have agreed that those are pretty good directions for our country. Well, what would have happened if he, after having been elected, had flipped the bird at those who put him in office and had grown the size of government, raised taxes, and vetoed the bill that repealed Obamacare? What would the voters have said the next time around? Well, they'd have rightfully been hoppin' mad and booted him out! He'd have been accountable to those that put him in office.

What platform planks are those that cause an unentitlement recipient to vote for a candidate? Socialism? (Sure, now that I've got all this time on my hands, I'm on Facebook all the time!) Great leaders? (Harry Reid? What some guy named Reid needs a shave and a haircut?). Current events? (Benghazi? Oh yeah, Ben Gazi -- center field for the Yankees, right?  Dude's got a cannon!).  No! The candidates elected by low information unentitlement recipients have only one accountable agenda item: the check from someone else's account.

And that's not the end of the damage unentitlement voters cause! This actually fosters an environment where these so-called leaders are incentivized to work against the best interests of our country and its citizens in order to expand the roles of their power base. How many times have you shaken your head at the decisions coming out of Washington, such as why they want to have open borders? When couched in the context of expanding their power base, so-called dumb decisions ain't so dumb!

This my friends is a classic CONFLICT OF INTEREST! And we are absolutely LOSING OUR COUNTRY because of it. And if we really want to take our country back, we need to make unentitlement recipients turn in their voter card to the government entity from which they receive those funds. (State and local voting -- if they're not receiving payments from them -- should be unaffected.)

The Constitution does not contain any language whatever concerning a citizen's right to vote.

This is hard to say, and probably hard to read, but we now have to look things in the face and name them for what they are, and these unentitlement receivers are by and large children. If they were adults, they could take care of themselves. They generally aren't informed, and long term consequences do not generally factor into the decision making process when considering who they should vote for. My children who I support do not tell me what to do. Why should these children who I support be allowed to do so?

We're all putting our backs into moving the huge wagon that is our economy forward. It's hard work, but we're tough. We've prepared ourselves and can handle it. Unentitlement receivers are riding on the wagon we're pushing, but because they're the tightest voting block in the country, they've got the handle in their hands! And it's not like the direction they choose has a well thought out rationale behind it. "Wow, look at the pretty flowers. Let's go over there!" Those of us that are pushing can feel the swamp water rising up our chest, but what difference does it make to the riders?  How soon before it's over our heads?

So in essence, those who we're supporting with our, our children's, and our children's children's resources have enslaved those who provide their living! If that doesn't PISS YOU OFF, get in a cab, head to the morgue, and turn yourself in... you're already dead.

As Elmer T. Peterson wrote in his column in 1951 in the Daily Oklahoman, "A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury." Why are we letting this happen?

We have elections so that we can come to a consensus on who is most fit to prosecute our affairs in the best interest of the country. Our money is being used against us to put radical, unaccountable, unAmerican idealogues in office.

Unentitlement receivers should not be allowed to vote for government entities from which they receive any unentitled funds as they will vote by and large to protect that income stream. With our national spending on unentitlements exceeding a trillion dollars annually, the idea that no one is voting for their share of that pie is absolutely preposterous.

If you think we're going to sweet talk our way out of the mess we're in, you're dead wrong.

Establishment Clause problem

We need to address the ridiculous, currently popular interpretation of the Establishment Clause of the 1st amendment.

It's stupid.  It's clear it's not what the founders intended.  We have a republican majority on the Supreme Court -- I know, Justice Roberts notwithstanding -- and it needs to be fixed.

Clearly, the amendment is not meant as a separation of Church and State to the point where no one can express a religious idea in anything remotely tied to a government square (given that the amendment also states that "no law can be established that restricts.."), but rather as a directive not to force people to join a specific religion.

Come on people!
